Whaleyard completed a design/build remodel of a Carroll Gardens basement. We worked through a comprehensive design process with the clients to prioritize privacy, air circulation and storage. Their original space we divided into a bedroom and living area separated by a large built-in bookcase and entertainment nook. The bedroom included a custom bed and full built-in closets in hand-oiled white oak. A custom pocket door provided transition between the two new spaces and we brightened the whole area with fully-integrated LED's.
Modular Desks for Mack Weldon / Manhattan, NY
Whaleyard collaborated with Frederick Tang Architects, contributing fabrication expertise to the design of eight modular standing desks for Mack Weldon headquarters in midtown Manhattan. Beyond fabrication, we engaged with FTA during design iterations to head off fabrication dilemmas before they reached the shop floor.
Railing at 560 State St. / Brooklyn, NY
We designed and fabricated an oak railing with blackened steel posts and tensioned cables to match pre-existing decor for the home of a landscape architect. We worked directly with the homeowner and had to accommodate irregularities of the site's original construction.

Whaleyard designed and fabricated a reception desk for Blue Bird Sky to grace their newly renovated community space in Washington D.C.'s arts district. We worked closely with the client to understand their vision and to reflect the welcoming and contemporary spirit of the studio.
